Why is there a no-pinch tip on a tire lever?

In this article, we would like to explain why our set includes one tire lever with a no-pinch tip and one without it. And why it is not worth ordering both tire levers with a no-pinch tip.
MayakLab tire levers for enduro motorcycles
The tire lever with a no-pinch tip is designed to mount the tire on the rim in a way that is convenient and safe for the tire tube. When using a tire lever without a no-pinch tip, it is common to push it too far under the edge of the tire. This can cause the lever to pinch the tube, resulting in a puncture.

How to use the tire lever:
  1. Insert the lever under the tire.
  2. Pull the lever towards you until it catches the rim.
  3. Move it towards the center of the wheel and mount the tire on the rim.

Let's take a look at the standard KTM EXC/Husqvarna tire lever set

This set includes two tire levers. One lever has 3 wrenches (17/12/10) on one end and a no-pinch tip tire spoon on the other (photo on the left). The other lever has a 27 mm wrench without a no-pinch tip (photo on the right).
The tire lever with a 27 mm wrench is made for the rear axle nut. The tire lever with a 17/12/10 wrench is made for removing the front axle and rim locks. If you have TUbliss installed, consider the set with a tire lever with a 17/14/10 wrench. The TUbliss towball nut is typically 14mm.
The MayakLab's set of tire levers enables you to carry a minimal number of wrenches on your trip or race, allowing you to repair or to mount a tire on a rim in the field.
These tire levers are specifically designed for enduro motorcycles. The set is lightweight, weighing less than 200g, and made of 7075T6 aluminum alloy, which has a high strength-to-weight ratio. The tire levers are 25cm long, making them easy to fit in any backpack or fanny pack.
When choosing a set for your motorcycle, it's important to consider whether a ring wrench can be used. In some motorcycle models, the nuts on the wheels can only be loosen with a ring wrench head or Torx.
