Backpacks and waist packs are made of polyurethane (PU) coated fabric. Therefore, it is not recommended to machine wash or dry them. Avoid washing it with harsh detergents that contain bleach; stain removers, or conditioners. Instead, use soap or specialized cleaning agents to remove dirt.
Before washing, always check the contents of the pockets and fasten all zippers.
Clean with a sponge or soft-bristled brush under running water. We strongly recommend not to clean the backpack with the high-pressure cleaners!
After cleaning and drying your backpack, you can lubricate its zippers with paraffin wax. This will increase their lifespan and make the sliders slide smoothly.
After several washings, we recommend to restore the water repellency of the fabric. Use a DWR (durable water repellent) spray. This treatment will make water roll off the surface of the fabric. The fabric does not get wet, does not absorb water, as a result it does not become heavier and dries faster.
When choosing a DWR, please pay attention to the components. We recommend using water-based repellents that are safe for both your health and the environment, and that are completely PFC/fluorine free. We recommend considering world-renowned brands such as Granger's, Storm Waterproofing, and Nikwax.
